A Rare Gothic Candlestick

The central stem, which has both pricket and socket candleholders (depending on the quality of the wax or tallow candle), tapers down to a faceted knop, which sits above the upturned base/drip pan, which has integrally cast animal head feet.

Possibly Limoges, circa 1380-1420.
